As UX and CX researchers we wield amazing powers in the future design thinking and creation of really any product and service on the planet because we ultimately decide whose voices are heard. That's the realization a group of researchers came to after the horrific death of George Floyd. As humans and co-workers, they decided enough was enough and they needed to do something. Tackling a monumental issue like systemic racism can be overwhelming but sometimes, seemingly unrelated actions can be the first steps to a solution. In this session, we will discuss how ensuring every voice is represented impacts UX/CX research and design, and ultimately the world we live in.
You will learn:
- Insights into incorporating diversity, equity, and inclusion into research studies
- Methodologies to ensure equal representation, especially of marginalized communities in research
- Communication tactics for DEI results
- Action steps to incorporate DEI learnings into current and future projects
