Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

User profiles can effectively capture who the target users are, their key motivations and behaviors. Good user profiles help development teams empathize with users, and lead to better designs, both useful and easy to use. Our talk will demonstrate a case study where seven diverse user profiles for AI were created, reflecting users who utilize development tools in their science and engineering applications of AI. We will cover three UX Research phases in our work, spanning from design, validation, and roll-out of the user profiles within our organization. We will discuss how we used data-driven methods to build the user profiles upon a deep understanding of real-world users. We will also share how we communicated the user profiles to our teams in an engaging and memorable way. We will finally showcase how the user profiles helped our developers empathize with users and think more clearly about user goals and pains. Attendees will walk away with insights on what user profiles are, and ideas on how to create, evaluate and use them to create better products. We will also share practical tips and tricks of engaging stakeholders in the process and hosting co-creation sessions using tools like Miro.
